National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
NICE is responsible for improving health and social care through evidence based guidance. In England, NICE plays a pivotal role in decisions regarding patient access to new treatments.
NICE has been active in considering methodological issues associated with the evaluation of cell and gene therapies and has issued guidance to the NHS on a number of such products. NICE is supportive of the ATTC network in putting in place the expertise and infrastructure to ensure that clinically and cost effective advanced therapies are deployed to the benefit of NHS patients.
