Asymptote, now part of Cytiva, launched the VIA Capsule on the 28 May 2020 at the Virtual ISCT. The VIA Capsule is the first liquid nitrogen-free cryogenic shipment system designed specifically for cell therapies, which provides a more controlled, assured and patient focused way of shipping a cellular product.
The launch of this product is very much aligned to the NA-ATTC and Work Package 2 (Effective End to End Supply Chain Management) which is led by Bill Shingleton, Alliances Manager for Asymptote. A significant proportion of the development, verification and validation of the VIA Capsule and the networks it has been tested in, is as a result of the activities and collaborations within the Northern Alliance project.
