Congratulations to Jess Ritchie, Clinical Research Nurse, based in the Advance Immune and Cell Therapies (AICT) Research Team, at The Christie Hospital in Manchester. Jess, sponsored by iMATCH, was not only the first student to graduate from the new MSc in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) at The University of Manchester, she also completed the course whilst working full time during a global pandemic and gained a distinction!

The MSc, created by leading professionals in the field, has been designed to equip students with the necessary understanding regarding the challenges in bringing an ATMP through development, to patients. It therefore complemented Jess’ role in the AICT Team extremely well, as they offer ATMP trials to patients with solid tumours.

The course is taught by experts in advanced therapies from industry, academia, the health care and regulatory sectors. Students can choose to follow laboratory or clinical research-based content, with optional modules available covering a wide variety of ATMP indications.
